On March 24th, we celebrate Gelato Day 2025 with the European Flavor of the Year: Hallelujah! Created by Sicilian gelato master Vincenzo Squatrito, this delicious hazelnut and chocolate gelato is a tribute to the Holy Year 2025 in Rome. For this special edition, gelatieri across Europe will put their own creative spin on Hallelujah, blending traditional flavors with local ingredients to delight their customers.

Since 2012, Gelato Day has united Europe through its love for artisanal gelato, celebrated every March 24th. This year, Italy is at the center of the festivities, with Hallelujah representing the very essence of craftsmanship and tradition. 🍦 Introducing the Flavor of the Year 2025: “Strauss” – Raspberry with Pink Pepper! 🎶

On March 19th at 12:00 PM, the 2025 Flavor of the Year, “Strauss”, was unveiled in Berlin and Vienna, marking the official start of the gelato season! Inspired by the legendary Johann Strauss, this flavor is a tribute to his 200th birthday and symbolizes the musical and cultural connection between Germany and Austria.

Guests at Caffè e Gelato in Germany(Berlin, Potsdamer Platz) and Eissalon am Schwedenplatz In Austria(Vienna) experienced a live gelato-making session and tasted two exclusive variations:
🍨 A delicate raspberry sorbet infused with pink pepper’s subtle spice
🍨 A creamy raspberry gelato with milk, topped with pink pepper crumble

As part of the Berlin event, the GELATOn the ROAD project was also introduced, highlighting its mission to create a European Road of Gelato, a journey through 12 countries, celebrating artisanal gelato, sustainability, and tradition.

As one of the selected gelaterias for the European Road of Gelato, Bortolotti showcased his delicious gelato at the 2nd General Assembly of Gelaton the Road in Vienna (September 2024).

During the International Gelato Exhibition (MIG) in Longarone, Uniteis e.V stand became a meeting point for delegations from Spain and Poland, including Helena Arévalo Martínez from @domspaineu and Polish gelato makers Justyna, Tomasz, Wojciech, and Katarzyna. These meetings were also framed by the participation of @vanceomaria ceo and @franz.zanne from @longaronefieresrl .

We also held a working session with Silvio Molin Pradel (president of AGIA Austria) to plan the Flavor of the Year 2025 and a promotional campaign in Austria with our partner European Training and Research Institute
